About This Course

Multi-Cluster/Sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) is an important method for evaluating the requirements of impacted populations during unexpected onset events. It acts as a first step toward carrying out more thorough assessments of the needs of the clusters and sectors. During humanitarian disasters, MIRA gathers and evaluates vital data about the impacted population and their needs, offering insightful information that helps with strategic response strategy. Starting and organizing MIRA, planning the assessment process, conducting a secondary data review to analyze current data sources, collecting primary data to learn firsthand information from impacted communities, conducting a joint needs analysis to collaboratively assess needs across sectors, and disseminating the results to inform response efforts through reporting and product distribution are all steps in the assessment process.
